American rapper Travis Scott was taken into custody this morning after a fight with his own bodyguard in the middle of Paris.
The incident occurred at around 5 am local time at the George V Hotel, located in the 8th district of the French capital and close to the famous Champs-Elysees.
According to French news source Valeurs Actuelles, officers arrested Scott on the spot.
Police sources say Travis Scott was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
A police source claims the 33-year-old musician was under the influence of alcohol throughout the altercation.
“The suspect was drunk and was quarrelling with another person – possibly the hotel receptionist,” an official source involved in the investigation said, reports the Daily Mail.
“He was not in the right condition to be questioned, so he was put in a cell where he was still conscious.”
According to a Paris police source, the rapper’s “condition was such that he could not be questioned initially”, but he was due to be questioned by judicial police on Friday.
According to the source, he has been placed in a cell on suspicion of “violence against another person.”
Scott’s attorneys have not commented on his arrest.
Scott, who is currently in Paris for the Olympics, was in attendance at Thursday’s men’s basketball semifinal between Serbia and the United States.
