Mumbai: Actress Sonam, who is known for ‘Tridev’ and ‘Vishwatma’, is reflecting on the process of her travel and acceptance.
On Wednesday, the actress took her on her Instagram, and shared an array of paintings with her son Gaurav Rai. The post also has throbac pictures and some new photos. He also wrote a long note in the caption, as he shared how he got approval with his son’s autism.
She wrote, “No two autistic children or adults are the same. They are like fingers marks. Unique. As a young mother at the age of 20, I really grew up with my son, who is autistic. It was in the 90s. ‘Isco is mental problems?’
The actress further mentioned that she would come home from parties or social ceremonies and will always start crying non-stop alone in the bathroom after her son falls asleep. She called it a very difficult journey, during which she embraced her son and slept.
He shared, “One night when my son was sleeping, I found this great feeling of strength, which overwhelmed me. That night, I decided that I had to learn some things, for him and for myself (a few more days description), which I did happily and did it happily. Sometimes with a smile, both.
He said, “Here, this was my son. I hate sympathy. Now I don’t even need sympathy. I would like to thank @rajiv_rai_ for being an excellent father till this date. He did not spare anything in our son’s education. A compassionate, loving and careful person”.

Sonam was married to producer-director Rajiv Rai, with whom he worked on ‘Tridev’ and ‘Vishwatma’. Both of them have a son Gaurav Rai, who was detected autism at an early age. In 1997, the couple left India for Britain, as Mumbai -based underworld leader Abu Salem was working after a failure attempts by Hitman to kill him.
The couple initially lived in Los Angeles and then settled in Europe. However, the marriage deteriorated, and they officially divorced in 2016 after 25 years.
