Mumbai: Avinash Tiwary and Tripati Dimri starrer romantic drama ‘Laila Majnu’ is all set to re-release in theatres on August 9. The story revolves around Qais and Laila, two Kashmiri lovers who are unable to reconcile due to their families’ animosity. But destiny intervenes and Laila marries someone else after Qais moves to London.
Laila Majnu stars Avinash Tiwari and Tripti Dimri in the lead roles and is directed by Sajid Ali.
On Wednesday, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali celebrated the achievement by sharing several pictures on his Instagram handle. Along with the pictures, he also shared a gratitude note.
The note read, “Laila Majnu is back on popular demand!!! Thank you for your love which has brought it back to cinemas after 6 years!! Releasing in cinemas nationwide on 9th August 2024 (see pic) Congratulations Team LM.”
As soon as the news was shared, fans expressed their reactions in the comments section.
“Stunning!!!! This is going to be epic. Congratulations to all the magical people who made this magical film,” wrote a user.
Another user commented, “Wow! This film deserved to be back in theatres! So happy for the entire team!”
The film did not receive a very positive response from the audience but the soundtrack of the film was a huge hit and also won a few awards.
Background music is composed by Hitesh Sonik. Lyrics are written by Mohammed Munim, Mahmood Gami and Irshad Kamil.
The songs were composed by Niladri Kumar, Joi Barua and Alif. Niladri Kumar won Upcoming Music Composer of the Year at the Mirchi Music Awards in 2019 and in the same year he also won the RD Burman Award for Emerging Talent in Film Music at the 64th Filmfare Awards.
