Tyrese Gibson was arrested in court on Monday for allegedly failing to pay child support to ex-wife Samantha Lee. Gibson is fighting a child support case with his ex-wife for their 5-year-old daughter Soraya. He appeared in a Fulton County, Georgia courtroom for the ongoing battle in front of Judge Kevin Farmer.
The judge was reportedly fed up with Gibson’s refusal to pay the $10,000 per month child support amount that was previously ordered to begin in April 2023. Gibson was therefore arrested for contempt of court.

The Fast and Furious actor was handcuffed and taken out of the courtroom for not paying for child support. The judge told Gibson he could avoid jail time if he paid Lee $73,000, including $7,500 in Lee’s lawyer fees. The TGT singer is also looking for ways to pay off outstanding debts, TMZ reports.
Gibson warned his fans over the weekend that he could be arrested during an upcoming child support hearing. He also accused Judge Farmer and his ex-wife’s legal advisors of conspiring against him.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Gibson wrote, “Samantha’s attorneys are Adam Glicklen and William Alexander who are best friends with Judge Kevin M. Farmer [ collusion ]“We have been appealing all of his decisions and have tried to remove this judge from the bench twice… the second time we tried to remove him from the bench. [ He actually denied his own request to be thrown off the bench] …let us assume???”

Tyrese Gibson appeals to the media
Gibson contacted several media outlets, including The Post, seeking media access to the hearing. He urged the media to ask for access so they could “see what Judge Farmer has in mind for them.” In a since-deleted Instagram post, he wrote, “It’s pretty obvious they hate me, but let me remind them and everything about my life and my success. I’ve worked hard since the age of 14 to get here.”
Gibson and Lee married in 2017 and their daughter Soraya was born the following year. The couple divorced two years later. He was previously married to Norma Mitchell and they have a 17-year-old daughter, Shayla. They were married from 2007 to 2009. In May, Mitchell filed a lawsuit against the actor for defaming her and sharing private information about their daughter, Shayla, on his social media.
