An unidentified woman named Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit against American DJ and producer Diplo, accusing him of distributing revenge porn. This is not the first time he has been accused of such abuse.
The lawsuit filed Thursday in California is the second against Diplo alleging similar violations in less than a year. Jane Doe’s lawsuit states that she and the DJ engaged in an intimate relationship from June 2016 to October 2023. They first interacted on Snapchat in April 2016, when she was 21 years old.
Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, reportedly invited Doe to his Manhattan hotel room in June 2016, where they began a years-long intimate relationship.

Doe’s complaint states that in November 2023 she learned that Diplo was allegedly distributing personal videos and photographs of their sexual relationship without her consent.
However, Doe commented that she had firmly decided that she did not want Diplo to film or share their sexual encounters without consent. Doe possibly found out about Diplo’s alleged actions when a woman contacted her last November claiming she had received explicit videos of her through Diplo on Snapchat in October 2018. As a result, Doe reported the matter to the New York Police Department and a warrant was issued for Diplo’s arrest.
Response from Jane Doe’s legal representatives
“Sadly, this is not the first time the defendant has violated and shamed a woman by circulating intimate images of her without her consent,” Doe’s attorney Helen Weiss said, via Variety. “Diplo’s alleged illegal behavior shows just how much harm he has caused to Jane Doe and other young women like her. Our client deserves justice, and she hopes this lawsuit can serve as a catalyst to put an end to the defendant’s repeated victimization of women once and for all.”

Margaret E. Mabie, Weiss’ colleague and partner at the Marsh Law Firm, also condemned the entertainment industry’s “repeated sexual abuse by the rich and famous.” Praising Doe’s bravery, she said, “Our brave client’s story is one of many of Diplo’s worst kept secrets, and filing this case is her first step toward pursuing civil justice.”
Diplo’s alleged promiscuous history
In 2020, another woman named Shelly Auguste alleged that the DJ not only distributed revenge porn without her consent but also sexually assaulted her.
Diplo hit back with a lawsuit of his own. On Instagram, he labelled her a “stalker” whose baseless claims were aimed solely at tarnishing his name.
Three years later, in August 2023, Auguste filed a complaint against Diplo with the Los Angeles Police Department, stating that he circulated nude photos of her.
