Justin Timberlake’s recent run-ins with the law have been a hot topic lately, particularly in regards to the details of his DWI arrest.
On June 18, the 43-year-old singer was arrested for driving under the influence in Long Island, New York. The Sag Harbor Police Department confirmed the arrest and detailed the events that took place that night.
Timberlake only drank one martini
The Friends With Benefits star spent the evening with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor before his arrest. When police took the singer into custody, he repeatedly said he only had “one martini.”
Earlier, the Daily Beast reported that the Selfish singer drank James Bond’s famous $21 Vesper Martini at the American Hotel, which was “purely alcohol” and “had no mixers.”
Cocktail blogger Moody Mixologist said a Vesper Martini typically contains “4 ounces of liquor.”

“It’s fair to say that this martini has twice the alcohol content of any other cocktail,” he said.
Now, a bartender at the American Hotel told People that Timberlake only had “one martini.” Another hotel employee added, “If he was drinking more, he wouldn’t be here.”
Timberlake charged with DWI
The arrest happened shortly after midnight, while Timberlake was driving a 2025 BMW. Timberlake was stopped after an officer noticed he was violating a stop sign and not staying on the right side of the road.
The report also states that when Timberlake was stopped, his “eyes were red and glassy”, which can be seen in the photo released of him.
Officers said they could smell a “strong odor of alcoholic beverages” from just a few feet away and that “he was unable to concentrate, his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on one leg.”
The Social Network star also “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests” and refused any breath tests.

Despite the arrest, Timberlake has continued his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. During his latest show at Chicago’s United Center on June 22, Timberlake addressed his fans: “So many of you come up to me and say, ‘I grew up with you, man…. I want every single one of you to know that I grew up with you.”
“You have been such a huge and beautiful part of my life and sometimes I can’t find the words to express my gratitude that you guys continue to walk beside me and walk beside me,” he added.
“It’s been a tough week.”
The Grammy Award winner’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 26, where he will face the charges against him.
