A fashionable, inclusive dance floor filled with pumping beats with a hard-stop Cinderella deadline of 12pm. This defined the first edition of the Circle of Love’s Big Picnic at Green Meadows Resort in 2025. This all-out dance party with DJs and musicians like Kayne and Nami clearly set the tone for what was to come this year. The festival returns for its second edition on 14 February with live dance music, Jazztroniza and jazz house music with international acts such as Alexander Flood as well as a DJ set from Tiffany Quinn from the UK.

The organizers are clear about one thing: your relationship status doesn’t matter here. You just have to know where the rhythm takes you. “This year, the picnic starts with a fitness and wellness session in the morning that focuses on yoga and sound therapy. Concerts, a flea market, some fabulous brunches and a few sets at the end of the night, are part of the plan. Since it’s a day-long event, we would like families to come too. It’s not a crowd. It’s a picnic,” says musician Guth, one of the organizers.
Is it safe to say that we have reached a point where the dedicated music community in Chennai is pulling out all the stops to ensure that good events and DJs reach the city? If we look at the line-up, the answer is yes.

The electronic music scene is getting bigger in Chennai now. I’m happy to see it and I’m contributing in every possible way,” she says, adding that as she’ll likely close out the night, she’ll play some high-energy numbers as well as some lovey-dovey numbers since it’s Valentine’s Day.

Rasa says he is most excited to see Australian drummer Alexander Flood perform with his band. His sentiment will surely resonate among others who are attending the festival to catch the spotlight. Flood, who has been performing with his band across India, brings a fusion of jazz, funk and rhythmic dance music. talking to The HinduThe musician says that he never doubted that the people of the country would dance to his music. He says, “This kind of festival allows us to reach people other than those who attend club events. We are creating a set that will appeal to a wider audience.”

Guth says Circle of Love is an effort to champion homegrown musical talent. That’s why artistes like Siri, Hari Shanti, Ana.Gha, Vardhan and Nami will also be part of the line-up, apart from performances by Gooth along with Kabir and Pushkar who have been part of the early Chennai rap scene.
An interesting feature at this year’s festival will be a workshop on how to use DJ consoles by Alphatheta and Bootcamp Goa. This is in addition to a romantic vinyl pop-up by The Revolver Club where people can browse vintage vinyl and add them to their collection.
Big Picnic by Circle of Love will be held on 14th February at Green Meadows starting from 7 am till midnight. Tickets are priced at ₹1,499 for doubles and ₹999 for singles.
