The ongoing family dispute between veteran actor Mohan Babu and his younger son Manchu Manoj has escalated, with both parties filing complaints against each other at the Pahari Sharif police station.
Shri M. Mohan Babu informed Rachakonda Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, alleging threat to his security and illegal occupation of his residence by his son Manoj Kumar Manchu and his daughter-in-law Monica.
In his written appeal to the Police Commissioner, Mr. Mohan Babu detailed an alarming sequence of events. The 78-year-old actor, who lives in Jalapalli, said his son Manoj, who returned home four months ago after a long absence, troubled the family on December 8. “Along with a group of unidentified persons, described as ‘anti-social elements’, Manoj created a disturbance at the residence,” Mr Mohan Babu claimed.
She further alleged that her son and daughter-in-law left her seven-month-old daughter at the residence in the care of hired staff. The actor said, “The matter escalated on Monday morning when around 30 persons claiming to be associates of Mr. Manoj encroached on the property, threatened the staff members and made the house off-limits to anyone without their permission. ”
Their complaint paints a distressing picture of intimidation, wherein the alleged encroachers are attempting to force them to vacate their residence permanently. Mr Mohan Babu expressed fear for his life, citing a coordinated attempt by his son and daughter-in-law to illegally take over his house.
As a senior citizen and former Member of Parliament, the actor highlighted the seriousness of the situation and said that the actions of Mr Manoj, Ms Monica and their alleged associates pose a direct threat to their safety and well-being. The complaint also sought immediate legal action against Mr. Manoj, Ms. Monica and their associates, eviction of unauthorized persons from their property and adequate police protection to ensure their safe return to their residence.
Meanwhile, Mr Manchu Manoj contacted the Pahari Sharif police around 7 pm on Monday evening and claimed that intruders entered the property in Jalapalli and attacked him when he protested and fled. Mr Manoj presented hospital records as evidence and mentioned that the CCTV footage had been erased. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
According to his medico-legal report from a private hospital, the 41-year-old actor was admitted with injuries like blunt trauma and scratches. “Notable injuries include blunt trauma to the abdomen and cervical spine, as well as abrasions to the neck and trauma to the left shin. Reports suggest that these injuries are fresh and caused by physical attack. Manoj was examined at 4.30 pm and his condition was declared stable with no life-threatening injuries,” read the report.
The opinion on the nature of the injuries was classified as ‘simple’. Additional diagnostic tests, including CT scans of the abdomen and spine, are advised for further evaluation.
