On Saturday (October 4), his family said his family said that Sandhya Shantaram, a veteran actor of the late filmmaker V Shantaram, has died. She was 94 years old.
Sandhya Shantaram was the third wife of the great filmmaker and often acted as a leading woman in films. Do Akhen Barh Hath (1957), Nine colors (1959), Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje (1955), and cage (1972).
V Shantaram’s son Kiran Shantaram, with his second marriage with Jayashree, said that the experienced actor breathed the last time on Friday night. “Last night died at 10 pm at Rajkamal Studio, where she was living. She was unwell for the last four to five years, and recently suffered from fever and cough,” Kiran Shantaram said. PTI,

“We often told her that she would stay with us till the age of 100. The saddest part was that she did not have her own children with my father, but she treated me and my sisters as herself. She was very cute, a wonderful cook, and would feed us lovingly,” she said.
The last rites were held at Shivaji Park crematorium on Saturday morning.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on the death of the actor on Saturday, saying that his death has caused a lot of damage in the film’s world.
“The news of the death of veteran actress Sandhya Shantaram is very shocking. Her roles in many Marathi films like Pinjra and Navrang became extremely popular. She also left her mark in the Hindi film industry,” Fadnavis said in a post on X.
Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Sheller expressed grief, calling it a big loss to Indian cinema. In a post on X, Sheller said that the news of the passage of the famous actor was very sad.
