Veteran makeup artist Vikram Gikwad dies at the age of 65. Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma and other post tributes

The film industry recalled one of its popular makeup actors, Vikram Gikwad, who died in Mumbai on Saturday.

Famous makeup artist, known for her detailed work, was one of the most respected names in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. From Aamir Khan to Ranveer Singh, many Bollywood celebs paid tribute to Gaikwad, not only remembered his work, but also remembered his soft nature and dedication to crafts.

Aamir, who worked with Gikwad in films like Dangal, PK and Rang de Basanti, shared a message remembering the makeup artist through the Instagram post of Aamir Khan Productions.

“It is very sad that we say goodbye to famous makeup artist Vikram Gikwad. I was happy to work with him in films like Dangal, PK, and Rang de Basanti, to make some names. Actor Varun Dhawan also remembered Gaikwad with his cooperation in Badlapur.

Gikwad started his brilliant career with the film Sardar and became a transformational force in makeup artistry for both Bollywood and regional cinema. His broad credit includes major Hindi films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Dangal, PK, Omkara, Delhi -6, 3 Idiots, Kamini, Ishaqia, and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. He was equally revered in Marathi cinema for his work on historical films like Lokmanya, Fattasikast and Sher Shivraj.
