New Delhi: The grand finale of India Couture Week 2024 saw a spectacular display of grandeur and glamour, with Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna gracing the runway as showstoppers for renowned designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock.
Held in Delhi on July 31, the closing day of the prestigious fashion week, the event was a testimony to the enduring charm of traditional Indian craftsmanship blended with contemporary design sensibilities.
As the curtains came down on the week-long fashion show, Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna wowed the audience with their stunning looks.
Rashmika Mandanna stole the show in a stunning ivory lehenga adorned with intricate sequin and pearl work.
The lehenga blouse featured pearl designs on the shoulders and was complemented with an elegantly draped long veil.
Her look was completed with open, wavy hair and smokey eye makeup, which highlighted her natural beauty.
Traditional jewellery including delicate maang tikka and hath panja added a touch of classic elegance to her outfit.
On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal exuded a royal aura in his light golden sherwani that featured heavy sequin embroidery.
The outfit was worn with powder-golden ivory pants and matching loafers, creating a harmonious and sophisticated look that exuded luxury and sophistication.
Celebrating two decades of redefining Indian couture, Falguni Shane Peacock showcased its latest collection ‘Rang Mahal’ as the highlight of the event.
The collection was a living tribute to the rich cultural heritage and architectural grandeur of India.
Drawing inspiration from the grandeur of historical palaces, ‘Rang Mahal’ comprises around forty carefully crafted artworks that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.
The collection paid homage to India’s cultural heritage with intricate designs and luxurious fabrics, all expertly created by the master craftsmen of the Falguni Shane Peacock Atelier and dedicated weavers from back home.
Swadesh, known for its commitment to preserving the traditional arts and crafts of India, works closely with the designer duo to bring these handmade marvels to the forefront of global fashion.
The event was not just a fashion show; it was a sensory feast that began with a lilac-themed contemporary dance and star performances.
The evening was further enlivened by a live concert featuring contemporary renditions of popular Bollywood hits, adding a dynamic musical element to the runway experience.
The collection section for brides was particularly attractive, with models performing live to ‘Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera’ from the movie ‘Swades’ and other hit songs like ‘Mast Magan’, ‘Tere Hawale’ and ‘Peer Ve Tu’.
As showstoppers, Rashmika and Vicky graced the runway to the soulful tunes of ‘Tere Bina’ from ‘Guru’ and ‘Ve Haniya’, bringing an unforgettable finale to the couture week.
India Couture Week 2024, which began on July 24, was a celebration of established and emerging talents.
This week, ace designer Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla presented his collection while Vamika Gabbi and Taha Shah Badusha walked the ramp as showstoppers.
