On the occasion of the 111st birth anniversary of India’s first field marshal Sam Manekshaw, Vicky Kaushal resorted to social media to pay a heartfelt tribute to the legendary military leader.
Actor, who portrayed Field Marshal Manekshaw in Biography film Sam BahadurHonoring his remarkable heritage and contribution in the history of India shared a poignant message. On Thursday, Uri The actor took his Instagram stories and shared a black and white photo of Sam Manikshaw.
He captioned the post, “Happy Birthday, Legend.”

For The Anward, in 1934, a cadet Sam Manekshaw, a cadet, became part of the inauguration batch of Gentleman Cadets at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun. His colleagues were his junior and future rivals, Tikka Khan.
On graduation that year, Manekshaw was commissioned as the second lieutenant and assigned to the 12th Frontier Force Regiment in Ferozpur.
Sam Manikshaw dedicated four decades to serve the Indian Army, especially during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. Born in Amritsar for a doctor’s father, he secured the rank of air vice marshal in the Indian Air Force with a strong military relationship with a family with his brother Jamie. During her extraordinary career, Manekshaw fought in five wars, which began with World War II and later struggled with Pakistan in 1948, 1965 and 1971, as well as the 1962 Indo-China war.
