New Delhi:
Vijay Devarakonda and Prakash Raj recently addressed the allegations about promoting illegal betting applications. The actors issued statements and provided clarification after filing a legal complaint against several celebrities.
While issuing a press statement, Vijay’s representatives clarified that the actor’s agreement with a gaming company was strictly limited to support skill-based sports in jurisdiction, where such activities are legally allowed.
The statement said, “It is to inform the public and all concerned parties that Vijay Devarakonda officially entered a contract with a company for a limited purpose of serving as a brand ambassador for skill-based sports officially. Their support was limited to areas and areas where online skill-based games are legally allowed.”
It continued, “It is important to clarify that skill-based games, including online games like Rummi, are repeatedly considered to be different from gambling or gaming by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. The court said that such sports include skills rather than opportunity, allowing them legally.”
According to the statement, Vijay’s legal team fully evaluated all possible participation before finalizing any agreement. After a comprehensive legal review, he proceeded with supporting skill-based gaming platform A23, ensuring that his association complied with legal standards.
The statement said that the support of Deorasonda was concluded in 2023, and he no longer maintains any connection with the brand.
“Vijay Deverkonda’s legal team and agencies should carefully review all associations before entering any agreement. After a completely legal review, he agreed to support the skill-based gaming platform A23, ensuring that their association lined with law standards. The statement said that the statement said that the legal-based skills of Vijay Devarakonda have been fully recognized by law standards. Was valid.
Concurrent, Prakash Raj shared a video statement on his X (East Twitter) while addressing similar allegations.
He admitted that he had participated in a gaming application advertisement in 2016, but he reported that his personal reservation inspired him to reject the resolution of renewal after completing his initial one -year contract.
He said, “I have not found anything from the police station or any summons, and when it happens, I will deploy, but I think it is my responsibility to answer and clarify for you.”
The actor continued, “In 2016, people contacted me for a gaming app, and I did so. But within a few months, my conscience, maybe it was legal, but I thought it was right. But I could not do anything, so I allowed it to go for a one -year contract. Immediately when they wanted to renew, I said no.”
“My conscience doesn’t accept that I do not want to continue,” he said in his video message. He further clarified that he was not engaged in any online gambling promotion of about eight to nine years before that period.
The actor mentioned that when the company apparently changed ownership around 2021-2022 and continued to use its image in promotional materials, his team issued a struggle-and-unique notice, which successfully stopped unauthorized use.
“This happened about 8-9 years ago, and since then, I have not advertised online gambling. Now, in 2021-22, this company would have been sold to someone else, and when they put these snipites on some social media, we sent them a notice. It is not an email, I can’t see it.” Concluded.
These explanations follow the registration of an FIL against 25 celebrities and social media celebrities at Miyapur police station in Hyderabad. A complaint filed by 32 -year -old businessman PM Fanindra Sarma alleged that several youths in his community had invested money in gambling application after being affected by celebrity endorsement.
Sarma allegedly discovered this information during a community discussion on 16 March.
