Telugu actor Vijay Devarakonda has reacted to the controversy around his remarks during the recently held audio launch. Retro, Suriya starring and directed by Karthik Subberaj. On 02 May, 2025 (Friday), a complaint was filed against the actor in Hyderabad for allegedly condemning the tribal community.

According to the complaint, Vijay Devarakonda recently compared the incident to the historic clashes associated with tribal communities, referring to the Pahgam terrorist attack in Kashmir recently. Advocate Lal Chauhan, who complained against the remarks, claimed that the actor’s comments were deeply aggressive and had funds to reduce the tribal population.
On May 03, 2025 (Saturday), Deorasonda posted X It was “no intention of hurting or targeting any community, especially our scheduled tribes, which I respectfully respect and consider an integral part of our country.” The actor said, “I was speaking about Ekta – how India is one, our people are, and how we should move together. In which world, I urge to stand as a country, deliberately discriminate against any group of Indians – I see everyone as my family, such as my brothers.
Devarakonda stated that the word “tribe” as I used it, was in historical and dictionary meaning – centuries ago when human society was organized globally in tribes and clans, often in conflict. It was never a reference to schedule tribal classification, which was also introduced during colonial and post -Calonial India. “

Association President Kishan Raj Chauhan, who demanded public apology from the actor, said, “The reference to the actor for tribal communities in the context of terrorism is unacceptable and dangerous.” Devarakonda “apologized to those who misunderstood their message.” “I express my honest regrets. My sole purpose was to talk about peace, progress and solidarity.”
