Here’s Vikram’s much-awaited movie with Pa Ranjith! ThangalanFinally the release date of the film is out. On Friday, Ranjith announced on his social media handle that the film will release in theatres on August 15.
This comes days after the makers of the film released an intriguing trailer that showcased a tribal leader’s fight against those who are plotting to take away his land for a gold mine. Witchcraft, hallucinations and exploitation of labour are some of the many themes that are explored in the latest trailer
Thangalanwhich is in production from 2022, is said to be based on a true story set in Kolar Gold Fields during the British rule in India
Starring Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan in the lead female roles, the film also features Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone and Harikrishnan Ambudurai in pivotal roles.
The film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by A Kishore Kumar and editing by Selva RK. Tamil Prabha has co-written the screenplay.
Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banners of Studio Green and Neelam Productions, the film will be released theatrically in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
It is noteworthy that Keerthy Suresh’s upcoming film, Raghu ThathaThis too is set to release on August 15.
