In an exclusive interview with Times of India, Massey shed light on Rishu’s transformation in the sequel. “There’s actually a huge suspension and a huge change in Rishu from what he was in the first part. He’s just responding to the situation he’s put himself in. He’s taking off from where he left off, and that’s what he became in the second half of the first film. But the core of it remains the same. He loves his wife Rani (played by Taapsee Pannu) madly. The truth is that he would do anything for her.”
Massey guarantees that Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba will be “more exciting, crazier and far more entertaining” than its predecessor. He described the characters’ actions as driven by their own logic, even if they defy conventional logic. He said, “Everything they do is justified in their own minds, but what they do is so unpredictable that no sane person can enter those areas.”
The excitement for the film is palpable, with Massey acknowledging the deep bond fans have with the franchise. “Also, because it’s such a well-received and much-loved franchise, we hope the love continues and people come back and see the film,” he added.
