Vivek Oberoi has now joined this elite list of honourees. He played the role of IPS officer Vikram Bakshi in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

In the series, Oberoi plays the role of a patriotic and disciplined officer on a mission to prevent a major terrorist attack in Delhi. His nuanced performance and commitment to the role won him appreciation from both audiences and critics alike.

Throughout his career, Oberoi has demonstrated remarkable versatility, from his serious breakout role in Company to the romantic charm of Saathiya, the intense drama of Omkara and the larger-than-life appeal of Krrish 3. His foray into digital entertainment with Inside Edge and Indian Police Force has further strengthened his relevance among the new generation of audiences.

Looking ahead, the actor’s upcoming projects include Masti 4, which marks his return to the popular comedy franchise; Spirit, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-awaited action drama; and Ramayana, a mythological epic that is expected to be one of India’s most ambitious cinematic ventures.

Vivek Oberoi on his Ramayan fees

Vivek Oberoi told Hindustan Times, “What Namit (Malhotra, producer) and Nitish are doing is that through Ramayana, they are really taking Indian cinema to the global stage. Ramayana is going to be India’s answer to Hollywood epics. It helps that they are associated with a company that has won about seven to eight Oscars in VFX, and they have already done such prestigious work. Truly Indian. To take the epic of the original, it couldn’t be bigger and better than Ramayana and really take it to the global arena. That’s what’s exciting.”

The actor shared that he will not charge anything for Ramayan as he plans to donate it for children suffering from cancer. He said, “I told Namit I don’t want a single penny for it, I want to donate it to a cause I believe in, which is children with cancer. I told him I want to support you because I love what you are doing and I think it will take Indian cinema with a bang on the global stage.” It was a lot of fun working with the entire team, Namit, Nitesh, (actor) Yash, Rakul (Preet Singh), there are still a few days of shooting left.”
