Want to attract positivity during Sawan? Here are some auspicious things that you should do for spiritual benefits

The holy month of Sawan (Shravan) dedicated to Lord Shiva is considered one of the most spiritually charged periods in the Hindu calendar. Falling between July and August, this month is considered to be the most auspicious time to worship Mahadev and connect deeply with divine energies. Devotees inspect, pray, and attach to holy rituals to seek blessings, health and spiritual uplift.

There are 8 auspicious things here that you should do during the month of Sawan to align yourself with positive energy and divine grace:-

1. Offer water (water) and bell patra to Lord Shiva

Offering Gangjal, milk and bell patra on the Shivling is one of the most sacred rituals during Sawan. Bel Patra is asked to calm the fiery energy of Lord Shiva and bring peace and prosperity to the devotees. It is very beneficial to anoint every Monday of Sawan.

2. Observe Savan Somar Vrat (fast on Monday)

Fasting on Monday (Somvars) during Sawan is considered very auspicious. Devotees avoid certain foods and spend days in prayer and meditation. It is believed that it is especially related to marriage, health and harmony to fulfill VRAT desires.

3. A lamp light

During Brahma Muhurta (morning), illuminating a lamp and chanting Maha Mitunjaya Mantra can save you from negativity and attract divine energy. Reciting Shiva mantras with honesty helps in purifying the mind and soul.

4. Donate to the needy and feed cows or Brahmins

Charity functions have special qualifications during Sawan. Food, clothes, or necessary, feeding cows to the poor, or offering food to Brahmins enhances your good deeds and spiritual blessings. This is a way of giving back and inviting abundance in your life.

5. Wear Rudraksha and have a peaceful mindset

Wearing Rudraksha garland during Sawan can strengthen your relationship with Shiva and can promote spiritual awareness. It is also advisable to maintain a calm, forgiveness and desired attitude during this month. Avoid anger, lies and unnecessary struggle.

6. Decorate Shivling with flowers and perform aarti

The offering of fresh flowers like Kamal, Dhatura and Parijat to Shivling is a symbol of devotion. The performance of the daily Shiva Aarti with incense and lamp deepens your spiritual attention and invites harmony at home.

7. Follow a sattvic diet and avoid non-vegetarian or alcohol

A pure vegetarian (Sattvik) diet is recommended during the spring to keep the body light and the mind clean. Avoiding onion, garlic, non-vegetarian food and alcohol shows respect for the sacred period and helps to maintain spiritual discipline.

8. Go to Shiva temples and join Kanwar Yatra (if possible)

Visiting local Shiva temples or participating in Kanwar Yatra (where devotees carry holy water from the Ganges) are deeply rewarded. Even if it is not physically possible, offering virtual philosophy and reading Shiva Shastra can connect you with divine.

Sawan is not only about rituals, but also about cleaning your inner self, looking for divine guidance and making a life full of purpose and positivity. These 8 auspicious activities can help you tune in high vibrations, earn spiritual qualifications, and invite Lord Shiva’s grace to your life. Make every day of Saran’s count – with devotion, simplicity and love.
