The Seoul Bangbae Police Station said that a woman filed a sexual crime report against NCT member Taeil in June this year. on Thursday, according to AllkpopTaeil’s agency, SM Entertainment, said they were “informed of the criminal investigation in mid-August”. What has Taeil’s agency said?
The statement from SM Entertainment’s representative said, “Both SM Entertainment and Taeil were informed of the criminal investigation in mid-August. Taeil was then summoned for questioning on August 28 KST.” According to the report, the police received the criminal report in June. However, they “did not inform the suspect about the investigation until August”.
Why did Taeil leave NCT?
Taeil left NCT after being accused of an unspecified sex crime, his label announced on Wednesday. His agency, SM Entertainment, released a statement on X, saying the NCT member would step away from the boy band after learning he has been “charged with a criminal case related to a sex crime.” The label did not specify the nature of the crime.
The label said, “We recognized the seriousness of the matter and we have decided that Taeil can no longer continue the team’s activities. We have discussed the matter with Taeil and it has been decided that he will leave the group.” The label said it is fully cooperating with the police investigation.
