Siddharth Sharma, a long -time manager of Zubeen Garg, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on 1 October and faces allegations of criminal conspiracy, murder and convict, which is not the amount of murder.
Although preliminary reports cited sinking as due to death, the remand note of the seat access by several media outlets suggests another possible cause behind the singer’s death.

The TOI report further states that, according to the remand note, witness Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, Garg’s close aide and Bandmate made a statement under Section 175 BNSS for SIT. In his statement, he alleged that Sharma and Mahata “had poisoned the victim and intentionally chosen a foreign site to hide their conspiracy.”
Goswami told the investigators that during the boat journey, Sharma allegedly forcibly controlled the ship with his sailor and instructed him not to share any outing videos with anyone.
He further claimed that during the critical moments when Garg was panting for breath and struggling in water, Sharma was heard shouting, “Jab Deo, Jabo Day” (“Let him go, let him go”). Goswami also emphasized that Garg was a trained swimmer and could not die due to drowning.
He said that he had asked the organizers not to arrange the beverage, insisting that he would handle them alone – but alleged that Sharma and Mahnta spikes instead of beverages.
Goswami alleged that the two accused had consciously chosen Singapore as a site to hide their crime.
During interrogation, Sharma and Mahant have dismissed all the allegations.
Goswami also told the investigators that when Garg was shocking with the mouth and nose, Sharma did not seek immediate medical aid and instead dismissed the symptoms as a “acid reflux”, assuring others that there was nothing to worry.
The remand note further shows that Sharma failed to provide any satisfactory explanation about the supply of liquor and the company arranged Garg before its death. It also states that documentary evidence, financial transactions, and witness details establish the guilty capacity of Prima Facial Sharma which has now become a major criminal case.
