As the Maharashtra Assembly welcomed Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister, Bollywood stars lined up for the swearing-in ceremony. The event in India’s entertainment capital was attended by B-town biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty, Vidya Balan and his ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ co-star Madhuri Dixit.
Salman and Shahrukh, whose iconic film ‘Karan Arjun’ recently re-released in theaters, were both dressed in their best formal wear. The two hugged each other at Azad Maidan, where the event was held, leaving their fans in a “brotherly” cheer.

While Ranbir was seen wearing a white kurta pajama with a jacket, Ranveer opted for an all-black look at the Indo-Western formal with his half-tied hair.
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections held on November 20, BJP emerged as the largest party with 132 seats.
The current grand alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) completely wiped out the Maha Vikas Aghadi in the assembly elections. The Mahayuti alliance swept the Maharashtra Assembly elections with a massive victory, winning 230 out of 288 seats. The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance of Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) won 46 seats in the state assembly elections.
Devendra Fadnavis returned to the CM’s chair after 5 years, became Deputy CM in his last term. Earlier, the Mahayuti alliance had maintained silence on the selection of the chief ministerial candidate as talks were going on with all stakeholders in the alliance.
The 2019 elections were won by the alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena (when the Sena was a single unit led by Uddhav Thackeray).
However, the result of the 2019 assembly elections was quite dramatic, and Uddhav Thackeray sided with the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party and was crowned as the Chief Minister. One thing that troubled the participants during the swearing-in ceremony was the heat of Mumbai.
The city is currently witnessing extreme temperature fluctuations as the city had its hottest December day in the last 16 years (since 2008), with the maximum temperature reaching 37.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Earlier, Mumbai had recorded the coldest temperature after eight years (2016).
