Waves 2025: A Sammelan of Bollywood, classical raga and folk songs

After the success of the Band of Bands India Round, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has now opened programs for the international band that can register and perform their skills in songs and songs from Bollywood to classical ragas to traditional folk.

Interested music groups are required to present a maximum two -minute video in the MP4 format with a original piece of music and song composed by them in Hindi. A maximum of five members, including a singer, are mandatory for registration through the official Dordarshan website. The participating band band can fill details like name, contact information, names of all members and social media handles. Registration will close on 15 March. The first video uploaded by each band will be considered for selection.

Between 16 March and 30 April, the clips sent by the participants will be played on the set dates and time on Prasad Bharti and the band will be ranked. First, the top 13 will be shortlisted and the top five of them will get an opportunity to perform at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves) 2025 to be held in Mumbai from May 1 to May 4.

The grand music will bring a melodious fusion of local and global music with the top five bands to play within and outside the country.

Riba Sood from the Ministry of I & B assures an electrification moment to the public, which will explain the various types of music performances, which are spread in styles and celebrate the diverse taste of music lovers. Waves initiative is an ongoing mission of the government to nurture and raise the creative ecosystem of the country.

The band’s battle is one of the 25 ‘Create in India’ challenges, which was launched last November to promote talent in dance among animation, reel and film making, gaming, content creation, posters, music and others. Riba says that the band’s fight is one of the major pillars of the event that has been taken globally.

Creators and technologists are expected to attend the summit to redefine India’s entertainment industry. In addition to cultural programs, there will be meetings, workshops and interactions to carry forward the limitations of creativity, promoting the spirit of innovation and development within the industry.
