Since cultural diplomacy is a major pillar of international relations, talks about India-China relations in the entertainment industry are gaining new pace.
On the second day of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves), talking to Sanjay Pugalia, Sanjay Pugalia, Aamir Khan highlighted the huge potential of cooperation between the two countries in cinema and creative materials.
Aamir was on a panel called “Indian Cinema, Oriental Look” with Aamir Peter Ho Sun Chan, Stanley Tong and Prasad Shetty.
Spotlight was on Aamir, whose films – especially Riot (2016) – The Chinese market has seen unprecedented success.
Giving information about the emotional resonance between the audience of the two countries, Khan said, “I have got an opportunity to visit China in the last 6-10 years, and I want to share much. Audiences in China – their cultural sensations and emotional reactions – are similar to those in India. RiotIt was almost identical how the Indian audience responded. Emotions were universal. ,
The actor designed creative and business opportunities, bringing such partnership. He shared, “I really believe there is a lot of potential for many reasons. First, India has a vibrant and dynamic creative community – and therefore is China. I have seen their events and films, and their quality of work is really world class.”
He said, “Whether a creative, emotional, or professional point of view, I think this is a win if we cooperate. For years, I have held many discussions with my friends of China about the discovery of these possibilities. Now, with the initiatives like gaining the waves, this cooperation will get another strong blow.”
“Both India and China are ancient civilizations with rich history and cultures. There are a lot that we can offer each other. I really look forward to cooperating with China with creative talent,” he concluded.
Aamir’s statement comes at a time when India aims to bring itself into a position as a global material center under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has repeatedly emphasized the importance of soft power in global diplomacy.
According to the PMO, Waves 2025 will host participants from more than 90 countries, including more than 10,000 representatives, 1,000 creators, 300+ companies and 350+ startups.
The program includes 42 plane sessions, 39 breakout sessions, and 32 masterclass that cover broadcasting, infotainment, AVGC-XR, films and digital media.
India is hosting its first global media dialogue with ministerial participation from 25 countries. Global e-Marketplaces, Waves Bazaar, will combine over 6,100 buyers with 5,200 vendors to 2,100 projects.
