Mumbai: Global star Priyanka Chopra praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making India’s creative industries champions, the World Scene -Discussion and Entertainment Summit (Waves) as 2025 which began in Mumbai on Thursday.
As a transformative event, waves are ready to redefine India’s role in the global entertainment scenario. Speaking through a video message on his official Instagram account, Chopra called the summit a “historic” and “bold step” to the nation.
“For the first time, India is hosting the World Visual -Religion and Entertainment Summit in Mumbai, Waves. This is not just another conference, waves are India’s bold move on the world stage,” he said.
At the Jio World Center from May 1 to 4, Neeta Mukesh Ambani is a massive celebration of storytelling, creativity and innovation at other major places including the Cultural Center (NMACC). PM Modi is ready to inaugurate the function.
The specialty of more than 10,000 attendees, the summit has united more than 1,000 creators, 350 startups, 300 organizations and global representatives from more than 90 countries.
Accepting the role of the government in bringing the waves into life, Chopra credited the initiative of PM Modi’s vision.
He said, “Thanks to our respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji and thanks to the vision of various ministries, media, entertainment and incredible support of the manufacturer economy, eventually recognized as important industries,” he said.
“Miscellaneous industries of India, from cinema to gaming, are all coming together … Waves is a bridge for the future of global entertainment from our timeless story telling,” he said, “India was always talented and culture. Now we have a platform.”
As she continues her upcoming project with acclaimed director SS Rajamouli, Chopra took time to hop that waves would become a landmark turn for India’s manufacturer economy on the global stage.
Meanwhile, Bollywood icons such as Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone also arrived to support the summit.
The grand opening in the NMACC Grand Theater will be marked by a performance from the 50-Tukra orchestra under the direction of Oscar-monetory composer MM Kerwani, which determines a royal tone to follow those days.
