In the caption, the actor said: “Praying for the safety and strength of the people of Kerala.” On the morning of July 30, multiple landslides occurred in Poonjari Matom, Mundakkai, Choorlamalla, Attamala, Meppadi and Kunhom villages in Wayanad district of Kerala.

These landslides caused heavy casualties. Due to heavy rains, the hill collapsed and a flow of mud, water and stones spread across the area.

With at least 361 people dead, over 273 injured and 206 missing, the landslide is one of the deadliest natural disasters in Kerala’s history.

More than 80,000 square metres of land slid and debris flowed for about 8 kilometres along the Iruvanjippuzha river. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is gearing up for his upcoming potential box-office hit film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 15, but will now release in theatres on December 6, 2024.
