It’s almost impossible to imagine anyone other than Darsheel Safary in Aamir Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen ParDarsheel Safary plays the role of Ishaan Awasthi, a child suffering from dyslexia in the film. The official Instagram handle of Aamir Khan Productions shared the first audition video of Darsheel Safary from the film. The caption reads, “Love at first shot.” Later in the video, Aamir Khan says, “I remember when I saw Darsheel’s test… where Darsheel’s first shot came and he hadn’t even spoken a dialogue. And I remember looking at his face, looking at his eyes, I said, these are kids! This is Ishaan. (I remember when I saw Darsheel’s test, where his first shot came, and he didn’t even have a dialogue. And I remember, after looking at his face and his eyes, I said, this is the kid. This is Ishaan).”
Darsheel Safary dropped bunny and monkey emojis in the comments section. “A blessing to the film industry,” wrote an Instagram user. Another said, “From the first shot itself I was convinced that he is the best casting of Ishaan.” Another commented, “This kid stole my heart as Ishaan. He carried the whole film on his shoulders. What a film.”
