Sabretooth vs. Wolverine
Tyler Wayne reprises his role of Sabretooth from X-Men in Deadpool and Wolverine. The trailer shows a face-off between the old arch-rivals. Sabretooth is a psychopathic mutant who possesses enhanced senses, razor-sharp claws, superhuman strength and reflexes, and regenerative healing abilities. The character previously clashed with Wolverine in an attempt to turn humans into mutants.
Logan’s Daughter Returns in Deadpool and Wolverine
Dafne Keen plays Wolverine’s daughter Laura/X-23 in Logan. Laura is seen having deep conversations with Logan aka Wolverine, played by Hugh. She makes him understand his worth. In one scene, Logan says, “You’ve got the wrong guy.” Laura replies, “You’ve always had the wrong guy until you weren’t.” The action-thriller also has some emotional moments with Wolverine overcoming his past demons as well as experiencing a bond with his biological daughter.
Spider-Man vs. Deadpool
The MCU comics have always pitted Spider-Man and Deadpool against each other. Spider-Man follows his own code as a traditional superhero, while Deadpool has his own ways. Despite their many conflicts, the two eventually come together to fight against a common enemy. In one scene, Deadpool can be seen pretending to create spider webs from his wrists, which makes a reference to Spider-Man. The sequence hints at a future face-off between the two Marvel superheroes.
Logan fights Charles Xavier’s twin sister
Emma Corrin plays Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier’s twin sister. Cassandra is a mutant with telekinetic and telepathic powers who tries to control Wolverine’s mind. While Charles wanted to protect the coexistence of mutants and humanity, his twin sister is an antagonist against Logan and Deadpool.
Deadpool’s Emotional Arc
The trailer shows Deadpool’s relationship with his family, as he decides to go to any lengths to protect them. In one scene, he convinces Wolverine to help him save nine people who mean the world to him because he can’t do it alone. The trailer also shows Deadpool’s respect for Logan and the X-Men.
Lady Deadpool
A glimpse of Lady Deadpool is also shown, as Logan and Deadpool are shocked to see the new character. It is still unclear if this character is against the hero or joins him as an ally.
Deadpool and Wolverine will be released worldwide on July 16.
