Mumbai: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was approached to be a part of Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year directed by Farah Khan. The film also featured Abhishek Bachchan as Nandu Bhide and he won hearts with his comic timing in the film. It would be great to see her and Aishwarya together in Happy New Year. But the Ponniyin Slaven actress refused it as she wanted to work with her husband Abhishek Bachchan but reportedly not Shah Rukh Khan. And now a video of Aishwarya is going viral on the internet dispelling divorce rumours about the actress rejecting Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year for not pairing up with Abhishek Bachchan.

Aishwarya said, “I was asked for the film, it seemed like a fun trip, you know you’re going to have a lot of fun, but it wouldn’t have worked because Abhishek and I weren’t opposites of each other and it would have been weird, and so I declined it.” Recently Abhishek reacted to his divorce rumours after liking a separation post on Instagram, he mentioned how things got blown out of proportion and quipped on the news of his divorce with his wife, saying, “I’m still married, sorry”. He added, “I have nothing to say to you all about this. You all have blown the whole thing out of proportion, sadly. I understand, why you do that. You have to file certain stories. It’s okay, we are celebrities, we have to take it.”
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya have been together for 17 years and they are parents to Aaradhya Bachchan, who has now grown up to be a beautiful and intelligent girl.
