Chunky Pandey started his acting career with the 1987 film Fire is fire. In the early stages of his career, the actor used to participate in shows to earn extra income. During his recent appearance on a show, Chunky recalled a funny incident when he was invited to attend a function, but later he realized that it was a funeral. He said, “When I was starting out as an actor, we had only one source of additional income and that was participating in shows. I used to have a bag ready, whoever called me, I used to run with my bag – be it a wedding, birthday or mundan ceremony.
“One morning, I got a call from an organizer. He asked, ‘What are you doing today?’ I told him, ‘I’m just going for a shoot.’ He asked me where it was and I told him it was in Film City. Then he said, ‘Brother, there is a small event on the way, for 10 minutes, come, the money is good.’ I said sure. Then he asked me, ‘If you are coming, please come wearing white clothes.’ I didn’t think much, wore white and reached the venue,” shared Chunky Pandey. The Great Indian Kapil Show.
After reaching the event, Chunky noticed that people dressed in white were staring at him in confusion. He saw the body and soon realized he was at a funeral. The actor said, “I reached and saw that many people were standing outside wearing white clothes. I walked in slowly and people were staring at me. They were whispering among themselves that Chunky Pandey had come and I was wondering what was happening. I saw the body and I realized I was at a funeral.
He further said, “I was naive and thought that the organizer would be dead by the time I reached there. I saw the organizer in the corner and called him. He said, ‘Sir, don’t worry, I have your packet (of money). But the family said that if you cry they will give you more money. This really happened.
Chunky Pandey was last seen in a Netflix film victory 69With Anupam Kher. He will be a part of this later Housefull 5. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandez among others. It is expected to be released in 2025.
