New Delhi: In the developed scenario of Indian cinema, where compelling narratives and transformational performances continue to attach the audience, actor Anant Joshi is ready to take one of his most challenging roles. He will play the role of a title character in the invincible: The Untold Story of a Yogi, which is a biographical drama based on the life of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
At the age of only 35, Anant Joshi has created a separate place for himself in the entertainment industry, originally navigating between the web series, television and films. Born in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Joshi first grew prominently with his lead role in Alt Balaji’s Virgin Bhaskar (2019–2020), where his depiction of a shy young writer attracted a lot of attention. He impressed this Kali Kali Ankhin (2022), Maimla Legal Hai (2024), and satirical comedy Kathal (2023), in which he played the role of constable Saurabh Dwivedi.
In 2023, Joshi gave a standout performance as Pritam Pandey in the 12th failure of Vidya Vinod Chopra’s critics. His depiction of a student navigating individual and educational conflicts was both fine and hearty, giving him praise for his emotional boundary and authenticity.
Speaking about his journey from 12th failure to pursue Ajey, Joshi said, “Working with Vidya Vinod Chopra is no less than training in a film school. She is a moving film institute. Being able to spend her every day on the film set with her, this was a lesson every moment. I think it was able to do a lot of failure as a professor.
Joshi also appeared in the rear scenes’ documentary Zero SE Restart, in which 12th failure was formed. In this, he reflected how Chopra’s mentorship helped shape his character and raise his craft. Along with the artists, Joshi had to undergo rigorous workshops and script modifications to give an authentic depiction of real-life inspiration.
Ajey, Ajay Mohan Singh will revolutionize the life of Bisht, known as Yogi Adityanath, to convert his journey into a spiritual leader from a young man in Uttarakhand and eventually one of India’s most prominent political figures. The teaser of the film has already made buzz online, its official trailer is expected to fall soon.
Ajey: The untold story of a yogi is scheduled for dramatic release worldwide on August 1, 2025.
