Born on 27 December 1987 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Oak is the daughter of veteran Marathi actor Girish Oak and housewife Padmashree Phatak. She is married to film producer Suhrad Godbole.
She holds a degree in Biotechnology from Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai and also explored business management before completely venturing into acting.
