Who is Rishab Rikhiram Sharma? Meet Young Mestro behind India’s music movement – The Sitar for Mental Health Tour

New Delhi:

What if a sitar can fix you? The same 26-year-old Rishi Rikhiram Sharma is getting ready to do a sell-out show at a time.

A disciple of mythological Pandit Ravi Shankar, Rishab is not only carrying forward a legacy, but is re -established for a new generation.

With his signature mixture of classical stars and contemporary emotions, he has now joined the Sitar for Mental Health India Tour, one of the most anticipated cultural programs of the year.

The tour shut down a thunder in Delhi, where more than 14,000 people packed the country’s largest indoor stadium. As soon as Rishab took the stage, the atmosphere shifted – what came out was not just a demonstration, it was a moment.

A moving, meditation, emotionally charged trip that cuts into generations, attracts audiences simultaneously from the age of 18 to 80 years.

The evening ended in a standing ovation, with fans and first-timers equally, was overwhelmed by the depth and energy of what he saw.

Now, everyone’s eyes turn towards Mumbai. On 11 April, Rishab represents his sitar – and movement – in the city.

For the people unfamiliar with his visit, Rishab Rickhiram Sharma is the youngest and last disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar who raised the sitar at the age of 10 and took him to the stage to 13.

In the previous year, his visit has traveled to the whole of India, the United States, Canada and South America. Even he made history by becoming the first sitarist invited to perform a single performance at the White House, where he was personally invited to a Diwali festival by President Joe Biden, First Women Jill Biden and Vice President Kamla Harris.

Does make his appearance so magnetic that he is not trying to separate – he is just. Silently confident, deeply spiritual, and dedicated to his craft, Rishab is creating a place where Indian traditional music is not only preserved, it is rebirth. And in this process, he is building a community – a where music becomes medicine, and a performance becomes connection.

The sitar for the Mental Health India Tour will also be in cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Indore, Bangalore and Kolkata.
