This comes just hours after reports emerged that two bodies were found at the filmmaker’s LA home Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner, tmz It was reported that the victims were Rainers himself. The 78-year-old film producer and his 68-year-old wife were allegedly murdered with stab wounds to their bodies.

Rob, a veteran of Mitchell, a Hollywood and former photographer with a filmography spanning five decades, was found dead at his Brentwood home on Sunday night. Initial reports said the LAPD had found two bodies at his Brentwood home. Now, TMZ has confirmed that the bodies are those of Rob and Michelle. “As we told you… two bodies were found in Rob and Michelle’s Brentwood home Sunday afternoon — and law enforcement sources tell us it’s the Reiners,” TMZ reports. The report also quoted sources as saying that there were knife wounds on the bodies. The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is currently investigating the crime.
Who was Rob Reiner?
The son of actor and comedian Carl Reiner, Rob was born in New York City in 1947. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became involved in show business in his teens, first working as an apprentice in a local theatre. In 1970, he had the breakthrough role of Michael Stivic in Norman Lear’s 1970s situation comedy All in the Family. This led to two Emmy wins during her nine-season tenure on the show.
In the 80s, while Rob continued acting, he moved towards directing, where he found his true identity. Beginning with the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, Robb went on to direct five path-breaking films: the coming-of-age drama Stand by Me (1986), the fantasy adventure The Princess Bride (1987), the romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally… (1989), the psychological horror-thriller Misery (1990), and Military Courtroom Drama A Few Good Men (1992). The last of these was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Robb himself earned four Best Director nominations at the Golden Globes.
The filmmaker continued directing with his final feature film, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues – a sequel to his first film, which was released just three months before his death. Over the years he has also appeared in small roles in several films, including Sleepless in Seattle and The Wolf of Wall Street.
