Mumbai: Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ may collect somewhere between the rupee. According to the theater owners and business experts, early days but more than Star Power, more than Star Power, Word-off-Mouth will determine its fate.
The upcoming film, as a spiritual sequel for “Taare Zameen Paar”, focused on the subjects of Bill, Inclusion and Empowerment. Aamir plays the role of a basketball coach that advises ten different individuals.
Mumbai-based exhibitor and distributor Rajesh Thadani said that the Word-of-Mouth Weekend will determine the good box office results for “Sitare Zameen Paar” in the weekend.
“Since it is Aamir Khan and the subject is different, it is expected to do it well. I hope for the film, it should be done somewhere between 10 to 15 crores. If the word is good, the box office collection should be improved, and it should touch for Rs 50 crore in three days.
Business expert Taran Adarsha said that this discussion is not like any other Aamir Khan film, which usually makes a big inauguration.
Edarsha said, “This is a word-of-mouthed film. If the audience reacts well in a day, the film will have a good number in the coming days. So far, it looks like a single-anxiety opening for the film,” Adarsh ​​told PTI.
The distributor-manual Akshay Rathi, who owns theaters in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, said that the film will appeal more to the urban audiences.
“Discussion around the film is good because Aamir Khan is one of the true superstars to be held in our country. The film appears to be an urban film, and it will appeal to a large-scale urban multiplex audiences … I don’t think it’s a film that will chase a ballistic opening,” Rathi said.
“Superstar dependence for box office numbers exists, and we have seen that with films like ‘Stri 2’, ‘Chhawa’. However, given the subject and appeal of ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’, it can become a dark horse and last longer,” he said.
“Sitare Zameen Paar” is a remake of the Spanish film “Campones”, and its success titled Hollywood’s adaptation titled “Champions”, with Woody Harelson in the lead role.
Raj Bansal, a leading film distributor in Jaipur and director of entertainment Paradise, said that since most people have not seen the original film, it can work for the benefit of Khan.
“The film is a remake, but 90 percent of the people have not seen the original film. Therefore, there is a curiosity to watch the film. It is not a regular mass cinema film. It is for family-class audience,” Bansal told PTI.
Khan’s decision to prioritize theatrical release on immediate OTT availability has also been a matter of discussion among industry veterans.
Bansal appreciated Khan’s decision and said that this step would take the audience to theaters.
“The film will be a game-changer for Indian cinema as Aamir Khan has decided not to release the film on Oats. I have been a lawyer of the same thing because the audience knows that the film will be available on OTT after a few weeks, so he does not come to theater to see it,” he said.
Apart from Aamir, the film consists of Genelia Deshmukh and ten Nawagantukas, including Araush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Samvit Desai, Vedanta Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshar.
