Will Rishabh Shetty replace Mohanlal in Randamoozham? Everything you need to know about MT Vasudevan Nair’s epic adaptation: Report

New Delhi: Malayalam cinema’s renowned writer and filmmaker the late MT Vasudevan Nair had long envisioned adapting his epic novel Randamoozham for the big screen. Following the demise of the veteran writer, the long-awaited project is now reportedly moving towards a film adaptation. However, according to a report in Mathrubhumi, superstar Mohanlal will no longer be playing the character of Bheem, the same reports have linked Rishabh Shetty to play the role.

Will Rishabh Shetty replace Mohanlal?

Kannada actor and filmmaker Rishabh Shetty may direct ‘Randamoozham’. Reportedly, MT Vasudevan Nair’s family says that initial talks had already taken place. This conversation took place about one and a half years ago. It is said that MT himself showed interest and took the first step to talk to Rishabh Shetty. An official announcement is expected sometime this year.

Ashwathi Nair confirms revival of Randamoozham

After the demise of MT Vasudevan Nair, the legend’s daughter and popular dancer Ashwathi Nair had confirmed that she is planning to revive the project. Although it was rumored that Priyadarshan or actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran might step in to direct the film, this later turned out to be false. Now, buzz is that Kantara star Rishabh Shetty will come on board to direct Randamoozham.

Ashwathi Nair paid emotional tribute to her father

Earlier, MT Vasudevan Nair’s daughter Ashwathi took to social media to remember her father. Sharing a post on Instagram, she captioned it, “Hope to see you again. Here, there, or somewhere else.”

“Emty was a true countryman. His feelings were those of the common man. He was honest to all his feelings. When he read Appunni, Velayudhankutty, Vimala, everyone thought it was him. Vimala is thinking in the snow. ‘They will not come’ is not just saying that it will come. ‘They will not come’ is a confirmation of coming.

MT spoke on the plight of the orphans, the grieving, the oppressed, the helpless and the isolated. The average Malayali is one who suffers from lonely depression of loss as if there is no one waiting for me, no one is coming to meet me. MT wrote while standing close to his depressions. MT told us ‘Will grow, will be big, will have good strength in his hand.’ MT expressed hope that he will fight his problems and win and new air and light will come,” he added.
