William Blake’s poetry and art has been adapted by Sushila Raman and Jit Thyil in Puducherry for this performance.

Therefore, it is no surprise that William Blake is a museum and medium for a unique project, which is the title of music and speaking words, a golden string, which is set to take the stage on 29 and 30 March in Puducherry. For this project, which has been in creating for some years, his companions Sushila and Sam Mills in music and life have collaborated with poet Jit Thyil.

“In 2018, I made a record called ‘Ghost Gameson’ in Indonesia and for this I recorded a version of Blake’s poem ‘The Sick Rose’. The project was finished quickly due to the epidemics and Sam Mills, my husband and music partner, and I stopped in London and actually started driving deeply in the poems of Black and also found that the words went on to feel well with us to feel well. He felt natural and so we wrote a set of songs based on Blake’s poems, “She says. For a lot of music pair around the spiritual traditions like Sufi Kavli, Tamil Tevaram, and Syrian Christian mantras, Blake’s words were sitting right with psychological intensity of their sound.

The musicians felt that the best way to perform would be combined with the texts of other Blake poems, making visualization from Blake’s visionary pictures and engraving. The poems were first performed in London and then with separate people in India with William Delimple in Jaipur in Jaipur and Bengali film director Q in Goa.

This time, poet Jit Thyil, who always loves Blake, came to a collaboration. “I was 13 years old when I found ‘The Sick Rose’ in an anthology in my father’s library.
