Pushpa 2 Hyderabad Stampede: According to media reports, a woman died and her son was seriously injured in a stampede at a theater in Hyderabad during the premiere show of Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ on Wednesday night.
According to news agency IANS, police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd outside Sandhya Theater on RTC X Road. Allu Arjun’s overzealous fans, who had reached the theater, rushed to see the actor, leading to chaos.
There was a tense situation in the theater in the busy area. Following the stampede incident, the woman, who later died, and her son were taken to the hospital. A large number of fans gathered at the theater to catch a glimpse of the actor, who watched the show along with some other members of the film unit.
Amidst the chaos in the theatre, the main gate also collapsed. Since Allu Arjun was still inside the theatre, police increased security with the deployment of additional force to prevent any untoward incident, as reported by IANS. Director Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is set to release in multiple languages ​​on Thursday.
The premiere show was scheduled for Wednesday at 9:30 pm in select theaters across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. The much-awaited film is scheduled to release on over 10,000 screens in 2D and 4DX formats. The release of the 3D version was canceled at the last minute due to post-production delays.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is the sequel to the 2021 film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which was a massive hit across India.
Rashmika Mandanna is in the lead role in ‘Pushpa 2’. Like Fahadh Faasil will be seen in an important role in ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Anasuya Bhardwaj, Jagdish Pratap Bandari, Dali Dhananjay and others are part of the supporting cast.
Given the high anticipation among fans, the ticket prices of the film have been increased in both the Telugu states. A PIL was filed in the Telangana High Court challenging the state government’s action in allowing the increase in ticket prices. However, the court refused to stay the release of the film.
