Christine of Germany said, “Thankfully I made it on this festival. I have gone to Jodhpur first, but never met this grand white marble Senotaf,” says Christine of Germany, because we are standing on the roof of Jaswant Thada, the morning of October. This is an ideal convenience point to see Jodhpur, printed with the color of Indigo.
Built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh LL, the Grand Tomb is the place where generations of Rathore rulers are placed to rest. Its specific architecture, a synthesis of Rajputana and Mughal styles, appears striking in the Stark desert landscape. Often referred to as the ‘Taj Mahal’ of Marwar, it is a site of Rif (Rajasthan International Folk Festival) Don concerts and is located a few hundred yards away from Mehranggarh Fort in the main phase of the festival.
Chestinad inheritance and cultural festival
After the concert, as we revolve around the green lawn on the border of Jaswant Thada, Christine explains how she is searching for India’s monumental heritage through music and dance ceremonies. In fact, what is the better way to draw the world attention to these important reminders of the history of the country!
“We have withdrawn the music where their journey began – royal courts. An environment that is nutritional art. In this process, we have revived the interest of people in heritage and history. When the Jodhpur Riff was launched 17 years ago, it was not just about organizing concerts, it was rapidly.

The Mehrangarh Fort also hosts the annual Holy Spirit Festival held in February. In fact, many of Rajasthan’s spectacular monuments especially turn into the performance arena during the Curate Music Festival.
Sara Chawla, co-founder and director of the Magnetic Fields Festival (held in December), says, “Such events bring people with equal ideology together to celebrate culture, and they are also places of search and exploration.”
The festive site of the 17th-century Alsisar Mahal (a war-kator fort) in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan gives its guests a glimpse in the magnificent past of the Shekhawat dynasty with music. “What we are trying to do exhibits the Indian heritage in the best possible way, even we reflect the contemporary cultural landscape of the country and present the state -of -the -art global artists from underground music cultures. During the festival, during the festival, the desert is converted into a huge town with habitat for about 4,000 visitors,”
Two other states that have successfully taken the cultural festival for heritage conservation are Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.

The 100 -year -old Tansen concert in Madhya Pradesh’s 50 -year -old Ustad Allauddin Khan Samaroh and the 51 -year -old Khajuraho Dance Festival of Madhya Pradesh has worked to lend liveness for these incidents. While the Tansen Festival takes place near the mausoleum of the famous musician in Behat village of Gwalior district, Khajuraho dance festival is held against the backdrop of historical temples. Built by the Chandela dynasty, temples are known for their complex idols and architectural splendor. The tourism department of the state is also an convergence of the Okha Festival – folk and classical art, crafts and cuisine. It is held in the historic city of Aurcha, which is dotted with amazing palaces.
NP Namdev, Director, Department of Culture, Madhya Pradesh says, “Tourist’s influx is at its peak in these places during festivals. In Khajuraho, every year, hotels are booked before the festival. Our primary objective is Heritage and, for years it has realized that we are surprised.”

Odisha is celebrating its heritage through a combined line-up of festivals. The Konark Dance Festival, launched in 1986, is held in an open air with a 13th -century Sun Temple scene. It also hosts Bhubaneswar, Raja Rani Festival of Music and Mukteshwar Odissi Dance Festival. Both are held in ancient temples by the same name. A collage of classical and martial arts forms, Dhauli-Kalinga Festival, is held in the foothills of Dhauli, a symbol of Buddhist heritage in Odisha.
According to Odisha Tourism, Additional Director, Biswajit router, “Apart from helping us promote heritage tourism, these festivals have promoted the economy of small towns that host them. Since the local people have started to understand the importance of tourists, community engagement is helping us to maintain these acne.

The word ‘heritage’ is not limited to monuments, it may also include parks. The beautiful nursery of Delhi (known as Bagh-e-Azim during the Mughal era) is one such. Today, a popular site for music and theater fests, it is spread over 90 acres and spreads to the house in the six 16th-century grave garden.
The Art-Heritage Model is not able to enter southern India. Very few cultural festivals are organized at heritage places. The Hampi Festival of Karnataka and Mamalpuram Festival of Tamil Nadu are exceptions. While there are diverse arts in the east stages between historical ruins, the Mamlapuram dance festival is held near the coast temple, a Pallava period monument between December and January, only when the area experiences pleasant weather. But this is also when the globally popular Margi festival is held in nearby Chennai and therefore, there is a lack of public protection for the Mamlapuram Fest.
Despite the challenges, the Department of Culture, festivals curator and inheritance conservationists are hopeful and are depicting innovative ideas to maintain curiosity about the past.
