Streaming giant Netflix on Tuesday released the trailer of its upcoming documentary film. Yo Yo Honey Singh: FamousWhich narrates the journey of the titular iconic musical sensation. Directed by Mozez Singh and produced by Sikhya Entertainment, the documentary will premiere on Netflix on December 20.
In the trailer, we see how a boy from a simple Punjabi background became one of the most popular Indian rappers, and took Punjabi music to the global stage. With the help of personal accounts from friends, family, colleagues and associates (including one Salman Khan), the documentary uncovers the layers of Honey Singh’s life and exposes the man behind the English beats and controversies.
“The documentary features never-before-seen moments from the rapper’s personal and professional life, including heartfelt accounts from his family, friends and collaborators. With this honest and deeply personal portrait, the documentary offers a glimpse of Honey Singh’s rise as a pioneer of desi hip-hop and Punjabi pop music, the struggles that forced him on hiatus, and his constantly evolving Their fight to regain their place in the region is shown.
