In a recent interview, when director Zack Snyder was asked about Henry Cavill’s cameo in the Marvel movie, he said this.

Zack Snyder on Henry Cavill’s cameo
When asked if he saw Henry making a cameo as Wolverine in the film, Zack replied, “I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve heard about it. Sounds fun.” He smiled when told that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool takes a dig at how Marvel would treat Henry better than the ‘studio down the street’.
When asked if Henry ‘wasted’ 5–6 years because of the film that never took off, Jack said, “Well, Henry is a wonderful Superman to me, obviously. I hired him. I wanted him to be Superman. So all the coin left on the table is unfortunate, and in that way, it would be great to have more Henrys. I always think you can have more Henrys.”
Henry Cavill’s Superman Failure
Henry played Superman in Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). Many expected him to get another Superman movie after he also appeared as Superman in Black Adam (2022).

He also claimed that Henry was ‘never cast’ for Superman: Legacy and was not ‘fired’. In 2022, Henry wrote on his Instagram after meeting with James, “I just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news for everyone. Ultimately, I will not be returning as Superman.”
