Electronic music festivals are a craze not just across the world but in India too. Electronic music festival ZAMNA is making its debut in India this weekend. Reflecting the life and spirit of a charming small town called Tulum, famous for its beautiful beaches in Mexico, ZAMNA celebrates cutting-edge sounds and natural beauty.

The pilot Indian version will feature a mix of international performances like Mind Against, Kahaani Vs Kunal Merchant, Giorgia Anguili, Saul Oswin and Animal Picnic.

According to Karan Narang of Paradox India, co-curator of the festival, Zamna is not just a festival, it connects people and promotes a sense of community.

Meghna Bhogle, Head – IP & Touring, Paytm Insider, who was part of the curating team, said, “The last few years have seen a very clear rise in electronic music experiences across genres. We are also seeing a lot of international talents wanting to perform in India.”

Setting the pace will be Mind Against, the Berlin-based duo of Italian origin, who deliver a radiant, dynamic take on techno, house and IDM. Their sound is inspired by 1980s soundtracks and the psychedelic hooks of modern dance music. Kahani aka Armaan Gupta and Kunal Merchant from Indo Warehouse will blend their distinctive blend of South Asian culture, rhythms and sounds with global house and techno in their set ‘Kahaani vs Kunal Merchant’. The organisers absolutely loved the duo as they are one of the best artists bringing Indian sounds to the global stage, using intricate dance rhythms with a South Asian touch.

Her performance will include vocals, samples and loops enhanced by a range of toy instruments. “I love India. It’s a country where I can always learn about knowledge, so I’m very grateful to be back,” said Anguille.

The duo will take attendees on an immersive musical journey, making it one of the best performances of the festival. “The passion for different music genres is growing, especially among the youth. It is exciting to see India becoming a major player in the global music scene,” said Animal Picnic, who are performing in India after a year.
