the film: ace
Cast: Sunny Deol, Akshay Khanna, Tilotma Shome, Dia Mirza
Director: Siddharth P Malhotra
Sunny Deol and Akshay Khanna’s movie ‘Eeka’ has been released. The film is based on a courtroom drama. Due to the presence of two talented stars in this film, fans were very excited about it. Now that this movie has been released, let us tell you its review, how the movie is and how the stars have performed.
The story of the film
The story is written by Althiya Kaushal and is set on Soma Mittal (Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor) who is partying with Shauryaman Gaur (Aksha Khanna) one night and then the next scene she is found half dead on the road. The eyewitness is Shauryaman who is arrested. Being a powerful leader, Shauryaman specifically asks Arjun Mehra (Sunny Deol) to be his lawyer.
Arjuna, however, refuses and says that he will take up the case only if there is a miracle worker. But then on the same day her daughter gets cancer and then she has to come to Shauryaman. This is where Ace starts again.
review
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the film features two leads and a courtroom battle, but at times the courtroom battle between Shauryaman and Arjun’s personal stories is understated. The problem is that even those stories turned out to be incomplete.
It was not clear whether it was the makers’ decision or Akshay Khanna’s own reason, but it seems Dhurandhar’s hangover was hard to ignore. Leave off the wig because it looks weird, otherwise the film seems to be completely focused on making its own impression. It shows how a man is summoned to court in a murder case and makes his entry in slow motion with music playing in the background. It looks like a superhero is making an entry.
performance
Performance doesn’t seem to help much here either. Throughout the film the characters keep talking about how good a lawyer Arjun Mehra is. But why was this not shown to the audience? Sunny failed to form an emotional connection. Akshay’s role also looked somewhat similar to Rahman the Bandit from Dhurandhar.
Seeing Dia Mirza, she seems to be playing the same old roles. After playing a troubled mother in Alpha, she was seen playing a helpless mother in Ekka. The role of the public prosecutor given to Tilotma Shome is not written properly, which is disappointing.
How is the film overall?
Overall, in Ekka you will see less twists and turns and legal battles than courtroom drama. You would surely be forced to think that movies starring stars like Sunny Deol and Akshay Khanna are ending up so ordinary.
