The Golmal The franchise is all set to return to theaters with its fifth installment. The makers announced the release date of the much-awaited comedy on Saturday.
Starring Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, the film is slated to hit theaters on January 8, 2027.
Rohit Shetty has announced the release date Golmal 5 Along with a new poster featuring Ajay Devgan and the cast of the film. The poster shows the team squeezing together on their amazingly drawn motorcycle. However, Akshay Kumar was notably missing from the first look. The side note read, “Laughter, fun, joy, happiness and family… just, nothing more. January 8, 2027.”
Golmal 5 Filming is slated for 2026, starting with the first schedule in Ooty in April. The makers marked the start of production with a video featuring the cast taking a trip to the hill station. The film reportedly completed its dialogue portions by August. The makers were yet to shoot two songs including the title track.
The upcoming installment brings back many familiar faces from the franchise. Ajay Devgan returns as Gopal, with Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade reprising their roles as Madhav, Lucky, Laxman and their characters in the series.
The reunion marks Sharman Joshi’s return to the franchise after nearly two decades. She first appeared in the film, Golmaal: Fun Unlimitedas Lakshmana.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is making his debut in the film Golmal Universe Rohit Shetty confirmed his casting on the actor’s birthday in March 2026. Reports suggest that Akshay may play an antagonist in the film.
Started in 2006, the Golmaal franchise has become one of the popular comedy series of Bollywood. second installment, Golmal Returnswas released in 2008, followed by Golmal 3 In 2010. After a gap of seven years, Golmal again Arrived in 2017. The franchise is now all set to continue with its fifth installment, Golmal 5.
