Tigmanshu Dhulia has questioned how the heart of Hindi is shown in crime dramas. The filmmaker said that C Mirzapur Presents a version of the area that is “grossly exaggerated” and does not correspond to reality. Tigmanshu, who is currently promoting his latest directorial ghamasanalso said that the different parts of North and Central India cannot be considered as a common environment.
talking with zoomTigmanshu said that location is an important part of his films and he likes to give different identities to different places. He said, “Hindi Dili Bhoomi is not just one location. Uttar Pradesh is different from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. There are also different regions. Location plays a big role in my films. I love doing it because I am inspired by American films.”
Tigmanshu was discussing ghamasanwhich is set against the backdrop of the Hindi heartland and follows a dacoit and an IPS officer. The filmmaker said he prefers to show differences between regions rather than portraying the entire strip through a broad image.
When asked about MirzapurTigmanshu did not hold back from his portrayal of crime and lawlessness. He said that the series took the reality of the region too far for its story.
“I can’t talk about it Mirzapur For whatever was shown was greatly exaggerated; What was shown does not actually happen. There are no cards, no weapons, they are not dealt as such. The total lawlessness that is shown, is also not like this (They are making weapons, they are making weapons – not done like that. The total lawlessness shown is not like that either). MirzapurProduced by Karan Anshuman and Punit Krishna, the film is set in the fictional town of Purvanchal in Mirzapur and follows the criminal empire of the Tripathi family. The series stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyandu in lead roles.
