Yami Gautam won her first National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance Section 370. The actor received the prestigious honor from President Draupadi Murmu at the National Film Awards ceremony.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Yami said she is still taking in the significance of the moment.
“I’m still trying to soak in the moment. It’s an honor and an honor for any artist. Any film artist who has worked all his life. And I’m saying this, I’m sure, for all of us, who come to the city with dreams. You don’t know what life has in store for you,” she said.
Yami added that the award made him proud, while also admitting that he still has a lot to learn and achieve in his career.
“You keep working hard, keep doing good work, and one day it will happen… I don’t know where I’ve reached. In my journey, I still have a lot to learn, a lot of work to do. It’s a big thing in me, and a place like this, which is a historical place, makes me very proud,” she said.

Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, who co-wrote the film with Aditya Dhar, Monal Thacker and Arjun Dhawan, Section 370 Stars Yami Gautam and Priyamani, along with Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwadi, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar.
It is based on the 2019 abrogation of the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
The film was released worldwide on February 23, 2024. Made with a good budget of Rs 20 crore, the film earned Rs 110 crore at the box office.
In the 72nd National Awards Section 370 Also won Best Feature Film and Best Music Direction (Shaswat Sachdev).
