Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his supporting roles in films such as WelcomeDied at the age of 62 after a long battle with cancer. With his death, many celebrities from the film industry have expressed grief over the loss of the actor.
Apart from Rajpal Yadav and filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who shared their tributes, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty, and Randeep Hooda also recently posted messages for Mushtaq Khan.
Sunny Deol wrote, “Sad to hear about Mushtaq Khan. He was a good man and a great actor. He has fond memories. My condolences to his family. May he find strength in this difficult time.”
Anupam Kher shared a video in which he said, “There was a time when we worked together in many films – Mahesh Bhatt’s films, Satish Kaushik’s films, and many more. Then we went our separate ways. But I will always remember the days we spent together.”
He added, “Mr. Mushtaq was a very simple man. He had a great sense of humor. And I never saw him angry.”
Talking about his relationship with Khan’s son Mohsin, he said, “Mohsin has never done any new work or shared a film. I used to ask him every time, ‘How is your father? How is Mr. Mushtaq?’ I spoke to Mohsin some time ago. He is a very good son. I am sure they would have taken good care of Mr. Mushtaq during the last days of his illness.
He concluded, “Mohsin and the entire family will always feel your absence – in the film industry and in their personal lives.”
Sunil Shetty wrote, “It’s sad. Some people leave behind memories that will always make you smile. My deepest sympathies to the family. Rest in peace.”

Sharing her grief on Instagram Stories, Rakul Preet Singh wrote: “Mushtak Khan Sir. A versatile actor, a lovely soul. Your warmth, humor and presence will be greatly missed. Gone too soon.”
Mushtaq Khan’s last rites will be held today. The actor is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
Ravi Kishan wrote, “You will be missed Mushtaq Bhai… We have lost a friend, we have lost a diamond of a person. We have lost a versatile actor with unlimited scope. We have lost a harmless, very good human being. God bless his great soul.”

Who was Mushtaq Khan?
Mushtaq Khan was born in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. Over the years, he acted in films and television and became a familiar face to the audience. He was particularly remembered for his role as a disabled hockey player in Welcome (2007).
Some of his other popular films include Hum hai rah love (1993), Aashiqui (1990), Hera visit (2000), Pair no. 1 (2001), will you marry me? (2004), Player 786 (2012), the woman (2018), Congratulations (2022), Gadar 2 (2023), street 2 (2024), and baby john (2024).
