Hanuman Part Actor Shobhinav Satya and producer Ragini Sona recently spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence at a bhajan-clubbing event, where they were seen enjoying devotional music with a young crowd.
The event brought together the cast and producers of the devotional film with Gen Z, with the Prime Minister’s participation becoming one of the highlights of the evening.
Talking about the Prime Minister attending the event, Shobhinav told NDTV that his presence with Gen Z conveyed an important message about the relevance of Bhajans among the younger generation.
He said, “But what you said about the Bhajan Club and the presence of the Prime Minister there, I will just say that it is so interesting, so good, so beautiful that our Prime Minister, who is of a different generation, is sitting with Gen Z enjoying the Bhajan and he is giving a great message from it, how important the Bhajan Club is, how important it is in your life and what changes it can bring to everybody.”
Shobhinav further spoke about the perception of Gen Z and Indian traditions.
He added, “We are either small or big. We respect the small and the big. We take care of the big and the small. And we show the right way. This is the tradition that has died out. And this is what we saw yesterday, our ancient tradition.”
Ragini Sona, who was present at the event, also recalled the atmosphere and said that the event was conducted with devotion instead of spectacle.
He further said that the people present in this event were present with devotion. “But the thing was, the people who were there, they were there out of devotion. No one brought them. They didn’t bring the paying crowd.”
Ragini also spoke about the Prime Minister’s interaction with the youth crowd. “With our prime minister, it’s always been, he’s always been associated with Gen Z. Our prime minister, from the beginning, he’s always been associated with the youth,” he said.
She went on to make connections between generations and Indian traditions. “And our tradition has always been that the little ones have to get used to the big ones. Gen Z has always been there. We’d never heard of that.”
Ragini also recalled how she felt the film and the incident helped her cross what she described as a generation gap. He said, “And as far as we can tell, this gap, when it started somewhere, to bridge it, I think this movie came about when people started going to the theater with their little kids, which never happened. I think it was there.”
Remembering the Prime Minister Defly During the performance of Hanuman Part Geet Parvati, Ragini said, “The kids who were standing there, with that bhajan club, they were clapping. And also, the dhapli that the Prime Minister was supposed to get, got the dhapli. And on that, it’s called Khansari or something.”
He added, “He played it along with Parvati’s song. He sang the song. We saw it.”
The moment was particularly memorable for Ragini. She said, “And it was a goosebump moment for me. Every moment gave me goosebumps.”
