The director of photography TO Vavan: The power of the forest, Manu Anand has shared a behind the scenes video of the making of the film Chhati Maia the song
The video offers a glimpse of how the elaborate sequence was filmed and the perspective behind some of its key moments.
The BTS video captures the grandeur of the set and shows how the song was shot from start to finish. It also gives viewers a closer look at the effort that went into creating the various scenes, capturing the scale and detail of the sequence.
A key moment shown in the video is the scene at the end of the song where Tamannaah Bhatia falls into the water, hitting her head on a stone. Siddharth Malhotra’s character then comes to her rescue. BTS footage gives a glimpse into the making of the dramatic scene.
The video also captures several Chhath rituals featured in the song.
When Tamannaah revealed why she got emotional during the shooting of the song
Tamanna said during the trailer launch of the film Chhati Maia This song is making a lot of headlines on social media.
He said, “This film is very special for all of us. There are many folk stories in our country, and it takes a lot of courage, clarity and vision to bring them to the big screen.”
The Mumbai-born and brought-up actress said she had seen huge crowds celebrating Chhath Puja at Juhu Beach but knew little about the traditions associated with the festival.
“I grew up in Mumbai. Chhath Puja is a major festival, and I have always seen a huge crowd at Juhu Beach. I didn’t know much about the festival. But when I shot the scene, I learned that it involves a very difficult fast, where people go without water for 36 hours and pray to the goddess,” she said.
Tamannaah also spoke about what she saw about the festival and Bihari culture in particular.
“Nowadays, we hear a lot about gratitude and expression. It is a very beautiful part of Bihari culture. Everyone pays their respects to the rising sun, but here, the setting sun is given equal importance and respect,” he said.
Recalling the experience of shooting the scene, Tamannaah said that she got emotional while doing the scene.
“When I was shooting the scene, I started to drift off and I don’t know why. As actors, we’re mariners, and I think there’s something beyond us that makes us feel certain things,” she said.
About the movie
Sow Siddharth and Tamannaah’s first film is also together. The cast includes Manish Paul, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Anoop Soni.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film is backed by Balaji Telefilms. It was released in theaters on September 25.
