Fahadh Faasil’s acting career has an unexpected connection with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Taking fans down memory lane in an interview, Fahadh revealed that Vijay was the first person who told him that he could become an actor.
Fahadh is gearing up for the release of his next project, Don’t bother the trouble. Recently, the actor looked back at his early days in the film industry.
He told veteran director KS Ravikumar Behindwoods TV The first meeting with Vijay was on the set Kadaluku Mariadhai. The film was directed by Fahad’s father Fazil.
When Vijay asked Fahadh Faasil to become an actor
Fahadh recalled that he was 12 or 13 years old when he first met Vijay.
“Vijay sir was the first person who asked me if I would be an actor,” said the actor. He also admitted that he never expected Vijay to enter politics and become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
“He was planning to do Kushi (2000) while working on Kannukul Neelavu (also directed by Fazil). I remember he shared the idea for Kushi with me. We only talked about films at that time,” explained Fahadh.
Fahadh Faasil on his failed debut
Fahad did not have the best start to his career. It is his first film Kayyatum Doorath was directed by his father and failed to do well at the box office.
Disheartened by his failure, Fahad quit the industry for a while and moved to the US to study.
Recalling his feelings at that time, he said, “At that time, many new actors like Hrithik Roshan were being introduced. Many directors were launching their children. Around that time my father introduced me, but the film did not work at the box office.
Fahad said he took the failure “to heart”. “I wasn’t feeling well. I wanted to go for a while,” he explained.
The Avesham The actor said that while he had planned to study engineering, he ended up studying philosophy. Thanks to his friends there, he also got a lot of love for foreign films. Later he decided to come back and do a film with his father.
Now, the actor is gearing up for his 66th film. Don’t bother the trouble Fahadh Faasil’s first Telugu film as a lead actor. Presented by SS Rajamouli, the fantasy drama hits theaters on October 2.
