Nani’s big-ticket film, The Paradise, finally crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office after six days amid growing criticism against the film. After six days, the net collection is Rs 101.50 crore and the total is Rs 120 crore.

Crunching the numbers

On the 6th day, ‘The Paradise’ collected Rs 4.40 crore in 5,772 shows. Seknilak.

This has taken the All India total to ₹120 crore and the All India total to ₹101.50 crore so far.

Overseas, the film collected ₹0.50 crore on day 6, taking its total overseas earnings to ₹30.50 crore so far.

This has taken the worldwide total collection to Rs 150.50 crore.

Paradise review

In his review for NDTV, film critic Sable Chatterjee wrote, “The Paradise is a missed opportunity, especially for a director who proved his mettle beyond doubt with his first film. His second, scattered and uneven, is no patch on Dasara.”

“Nani empowers parts of The Paradise to enormous levels of intensity. Beyond that, the film stays true to its setting. But its various elements are too scattered and uneven to sink deep to the surface and make a difference.

“As already emphasized, Paradise is especially weakened by an over-reliance on graphic violence. Each action scene tries to outdo the last, each act of brutality pushing the limits of harmlessness.”

The film marks Nani and Srikanth Odela’s second collaboration after Dasara released in 2023. Produced by SLV Cinemas, it also stars Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Jual.

Set in Secunderabad in the 1980s, Paradise centers on Jadal, played by Nani, and her fight against social discrimination and a system that has denied her community basic rights. The film combines its period setting with action and drama.
